What are ACM Selects?

ACM Selects are regularly distributed themed shortlists curated by subject matter experts for computing professionals. Each Select showcases a selection of learning resources, with the goal of helping people discover computing in an easily digestible format.

ACM Digital Library resources found in ACM Selects will be open to all, while some eLearning books, courses, and videos are only available for current ACM Members.

ACM Selects is part of ACM’s commitment to lifelong learning and professional development, serving a global membership of nearly 100,000 computing professionals and students. The ACM Selects program is a product of the ACM Practitioner Board and organized by the ACM Selects Subcommittee.

O

ur goal with any ACM Select is to provide new ways for you to discover relevant resources, be it through ACM or as authenticated by ACM-affiliated subject matter experts. Any given ACM Select will allow you to:

Explore ACM Resources

An ACM Select makes finding, accessing and understanding relevant ACM resources easier. All ACM Selects are curated and annotated by subject matter experts to provide context for learning and application.

Unless otherwise specified, ACM-affiliated resources made available though an ACM Select page will be made openly accessible.

Build on Your Skillset

Some ACM Selects are focused on skills development. Whether you are a student, an engineer or in management and leadership, these selections provide opportunities to pick up new insights, catch up on best practices or get started with entirely new disciplines altogether.

Find Your Community

When it comes to career success, belonging to a community can sometimes be as important as having the right skillset. To that end, some ACM Selects are focused on showcasing communities, their activities, and the ways in which people can participate in them.

Help Guide ACM Selects

The ACM Selects subcommittee welcomes community feedback and participation in determining topics, content, and nominations for guest contributors. Your contributions will be considered and greatly appreciated!
