About

Melissa Sharpe

Melissa Sharpe is a marketing communication professional, graphic designer and applied linguist. She began her career in the British advertising industry before making her way into marketing for the Technology and Social Responsibility sectors. She has experience in Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Supply Chain, Finance, Climate Action and Migration sectors. Having grown up in rural South Africa, a country rich in both culture, technical innovation, natural beauty and its many socio-economic and environmental issues; she was interested in the positive potential that the intersection of people, technology and the environment has for humanity. She currently works as the Social Media Coordinator for the ‘AI for Good Global Summit’ and the ‘Future of Networked Cars Symposium’ at the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) which is the United Nations specialised agency for Information and Communication Technology. She also acts as an Advisory Board Member of EarthFund - an international non-profit alliance with the goal to empower the world to reach climate neutrality. One country at a time.
